Chocolate bacon campfire desserts with cowboy coffee – backpacking food recipe

Hi guys! I finally had some time to go out for a morning hike and enjoy a nice breakfast in the forest. It was a bit cold so I was definitely up for making some hot cowboy coffee, and what goes well with coffee? Bacon and chocolate 🙂

I settled on one of my favorite ways of preparing crispy bacon, namely frying bacon in water! Its a dead easy way to make bacon outdoors without oil or butter to fry in. The end result is a nice dry crispy bacon that lends itself perfectly to being dipped in melted dark chocolate.

There is something to the combination of flavors: the salty crispness of the bacon and the sweet richness of the dark chocolate, its just perfect!

It goes great with a good strong cup of cowboy coffee (I like my coffee so strong it gets up and walks away by itself). This is my favorite way of making cowboy coffee. Dead simple, and works great every time.

Also, I show you guys my favorite Sawyer Mini mod/setup. It uses a longer tubing to create more waterflow and an IV clip.
