Bottom Line:
Well built, looks great, and is a great value compared to other E-61 dual boilers
Positive Product Points
Well built and reliable Looks great Love the wood accents Compact, especially with the tank removed Good value compared to other dual boilers
Negative Product Points
Pump makes loud noise on startup (couldn’t figure it out, and now I assume it’s fine and just live with it). Had a few minor issues over 1+ years of ownership (sticky lever arm, melted vacuum breaker, flaking chrome on portafilter) Shot timer is way too short (but it’s fixed in LCC v2).
Detailed Commentary
I’ve owned the Lelit Bianca for a year and a half, and I’m still very happy with the purchase. The only other serious contender at the time of purchase was the ECM Synchronica, but I think the Lelit is a bit better value and was also the only similar machine with a profiling paddle at that time. Plus, with the detachable tank, this is a really compact machine for those who plumb in.
The machine is very well built, looks great, and seems like it will be durable in the long term. I’ve encountered a few small issues, but Jim at 1st-line was helpful in all cases. I would expect some minor issues with any machine. The only issue I haven’t been able to fully solve is that the pump makes a loud startup noise when it first starts filling. I tried a bunch of things, but it doesn’t seem to affect anything and I’m now just living with it and assuming it’s not really hurting anything. Also, I think this is the same pump a lot of machines use, so I wouldn’t really single the Bianca out for an issue like that.
Buying Experience
The initial purchase with 1st-line went well. I had a short conversation with Jim about the machine, and everything came as expected. As I’ve had a few issues over time, Jim has been great at responding to emails and mailing me a couple free parts as needed. I would not hesitate to purchase from 1st-line again.
