Dollar Tree Dessert | Apple Coffee Cake

Ok, I admit it, I’m a little rusty at the cooking videos. Well, maybe you’ll get a kick out of my attempts to save this messed up Dollar Tree Dessert video. The upside is that the cake turned out perfectly! Recipe below.

Apple Coffee Cake

For the cake:
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter
3 eggs
1/2 cup water
1 can apple pie filling

Preheat oven to 350. Mix the ingredients above, except for the pie filling, lightly so that the batter is still a little lumpy. Pour into a greased 9″x12″ pan. Spoon the apple pie filling on the top of the batter then use a knife or spatula to break up the apple pieces and lightly mix the filling into the batter.

For the topping:
1/2 cup brown or white sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter

Combine ingredients into a bowl and using a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingers, work the butter into the dry ingredients until it forms a coarse sandy texture. Sprinkle this mixture over the batter evenly. Bake for about 45 minutes or until a knife comes out of the center of the batter clean. Bake times will vary.
